Simple guide to how it works.
Unlike most other galleries, Arteq doesn't charge you for the privilege of displaying your art. We make our money by taking a small commission of just 20% from each sale, far less than most, if not all, of our competitors. In turn, we invest lots of money in promoting your work and advertising our gallery. Put simply - no sale, no fee!All we ask is that you package your art carefully and dispatch it promptly when an order is received. When you are not in a position to be able to fulfil this requirement, for example when you are on holiday, you can temporarily remove your work from the gallery at the click of a button.
Once you have read through the rest of this page and made sure you agree with the artist terms & conditions, all we need is a few simple details to enable you to get started.
Once you have created your personal account - which takes less than a minute - you can begin to upload pictures of your artwork. Most artists and artwork are accepted but please don't be offended if we feel that your work won't sell in our gallery - we will inform you if this is the case. Once your photos have been approved (please allow up to 48hours) they will automatically be displayed in the gallery on your own personal page. You will need to provide some basic information about each piece, such as; title, size, medium, canvas type, and price. Your personal page is also somewhere that gives you the opportunity to write a little about yourself, if you wish - this is highly recommended as customers prefer to know a little about the creator of the work they are purchasing, particularly what drives or inspires them.
Arteq requires two digital images of each piece to be uploaded - one of the piece in its entirety, and one close-up that demonstrates the quality, detail, and texture of the work, and the grain of the canvas (please refer to the artist terms & conditions for specific details regarding image size).
When it comes to setting the price for your work, you probably have a good idea of what your artwork is worth, but we are happy to give some advice if you are unsure of how much to charge. You are responsible for the cost of the materials, packaging, and delivery of the artwork to anywhere in the UK, so you must set your price to include this cost. We suggest that about 30 is usually sufficient for the carriage of smallish pieces, but you should contact your preferred courier if in doubt or for the cost of larger items.
When a customer chooses to make a purchase from our gallery, they will do so using a credit or debit card and our online secure payment facility. Once payment has been received we will notify you of the purchase details and the purchaser's address via email and phone (usually text message). You then have 5 days to dispatch your artwork to arrive with the customer within a further 5 days.
To adhere with our customer's statutory rights, and to gain their trust, Arteq offers a 14-day money back guarantee, to which you must adhere. If for any reason they are not satisfied with their purchase they have 14 days within which they can return it for a full refund. If this should happen then the artwork will be returned to you and you will not be able to recoup your delivery expenses (return delivery costs will be borne by the purchaser).
Once we have confirmed that the artwork has been arrived safely with the customer, you will be paid 14 days after that date by cheque (alternative payment methods may be possible if by prior arrangement).
