Reverse Mounting or Direct Printing?
There are a number of different methods of creating Perspex art, the most prevalent being 'Direct Printing' or 'Reverse Mounting.' Reverse Mounting involves the image being printed on special, high grade photographic paper or film which is then heat-sealed onto the reverse of the acrylic sheet. The result is a high resolution, permanent digital print, providing the perception of increased depth to the image. This method is often more expensive but does allow the image to be scratch resilient. Direct Printing allows the image to be printed directly onto the acrylic. This allows the light to reflect through the image adding to the visual effect created. Both methods are available, and will be selected based on application and image type.
Materials
5mm or 10mm (preferred) thick high grade acrylic sheet are our standard materials, but other thicknesses are available on request. The 10mm thick Perspex enhances the colours, definition and appearance to provide a luxurious yet durable finish. All images come pre-drilled and highly polished, supplied with stainless steel fittings.
